Active Ingredient:
Each tablet contains
- Loratadine 5mg
- Pseudoephedrine 120mg
Clarinase tablets contains loratadine a second generation anti histamine which has less side effects including less sedating effects as compared to other anti histamine.
In addition Clarinase tablets have pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic agent which is used as a decongestant to treat nasal blockage making Clarinase more effective nasal allergic blockage
Histamine 1(H1) is chemical signal released in the body as a response to allergic reaction brought about by allergens e.g. dust, pollen, some food type protein, some class of drugs. Some of the effects of H1 include; vasodilation which may lead to hypotension, bronchoconstriction which may lead to asthma and allergic inflammation.
Clarinase tablet contains loratadine an anti histamine which acts by blocking histamine 1 receptors in the body
Dosage:
Usual dose for adults and children above 12 years of Clarinase tablet is one tablet per day
Clarinase is not recommended for children below 12 years
Caution:
Don’t take Clarinase if:
- You are pregnant or breast feeding
- Are allergic to it’s contents
- You have glaucoma
- Have a history of stroke
- Have urinary tract blockage
- Over active thyroid
Avoid driving or operating machines for the period you’re taking this drug
