Active Ingredient:
Each tablet contains
- Montelukast 10mg
- Pseudoephedrine 120mg
Glemont L tablets contains levocetirizine an isomer of cetirizine which is more effective against allergy conditions and more safe as compared to cetirizine. Levocetirizine is an anti histamine which acts by blocking histamine receptors thus blocking the effects of histamine produced by our bodies.
Histamine 1(H1) is chemical signal released in the body as a response to allergic reaction brought about by allergens e.g. dust, pollen, some food type protein, some class of drugs. Some of the effects of H1 include; vasodilation which may lead to hypotension, bronchoconstriction which may lead to asthma, allergic inflammation and a runny nose among other effects
In addition Glemont L tablets have Montelukast a leukotriene receptor antagonist which acts by blocking leukotriene receptors thus blocking the effects of leukotriene produced by our bodies as an allergy response. The effects of leukotriene in our bodies include; bronchoconstriction which will lead to asthma, mucus secretion leading congestion in lungs leading progression of asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
