Indications of capecitabine:
- Treatment of colorectal cancer (colon or rectal cancer).
- Treatment of breast cancer, often in combination with other chemotherapy medicines.
- May also be prescribed for certain gastric (stomach) cancers.
Administration of capecitabine:
- The dose depends on body surface area and will be determined by the oncologist.
- Tablets are usually taken twice daily (morning and evening) for 14 days, followed by a 7-day rest period (21-day cycle).
- Should be taken within 30 minutes after a meal with water.
- Tablets must be swallowed whole, not crushed or chewed.

Safety Information:
- Do not use if you are allergic to capecitabine, fluorouracil (5-FU), or any of its ingredients.
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, liver disease, or enzyme deficiencies (DPD deficiency).
- Common side effects include: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, hand-foot syndrome (redness, swelling, or pain on palms/soles), tiredness, and loss of appetite.
- Serious side effects such as severe diarrhea, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or signs of infection require urgent medical attention.
- Regular blood tests are needed to monitor liver function, kidney function, and blood counts during treatment.
