Advant 16mg Tablets contain candesartan cilexetil, an ARB that lowers blood pressure by blocking the action of angiotensin II, allowing blood vessels to relax and widen. This reduces vascular resistance, improves blood flow, and decreases the workload on the heart.
In addition to treating essential hypertension, candesartan is indicated for the management of heart failure with reduced left ventricular systolic function in appropriate adult patients, particularly when ACE inhibitors are not tolerated or as add-on therapy in selected patients. Effective blood pressure control helps lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, and other cardiovascular complications.
