How to Use:

Apply 1–2 times daily in a thin layer (1/16 inch thick) over cleaned, debrided burns.

Reapply after hydrotherapy or if removed by activity.

No dressing is needed, but it may be used if required.
Who Should Avoid It?

Allergic to sulfonamides or any ingredient in the cream.

Premature infants, newborns (<2 months), or pregnant women near term (risk of kernicterus in babies).

Patients with severe kidney/liver issues (may accumulate in the body).
Side Effects:

Common: Skin irritation, rash, burning sensation.

Rare but serious:

Blood disorders (e.g., anemia).

Severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome).

Kidney/liver toxicity (with large burns or prolonged use).

Precautions:

Monitor kidney/liver function in large burns (drug absorption increases).

Fungal infections may occur under eschar (dead tissue).

Avoid in G6PD-deficient patients (risk of hemolysis).

Do not use with proteolytic enzymes (silver may deactivate them).
Drug Interactions:

May interfere with phenytoin or tolbutamide (blood sugar/seizure meds).

Chlorhexidine 0.2% can boost its effect against Staphylococcus.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:

Avoid in late pregnancy (risk to newborn).
