Duspatalin 200mg contains mebeverine hydrochloride 200mg in a modified-release formulation. Mebeverine acts directly on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract to help relieve intestinal spasms without significantly affecting normal bowel movement.
It is used primarily for the symptomatic relief of abdominal pain, cramps, bowel disturbances and intestinal discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome. The 200mg modified-release formulation is designed for twice-daily administration.
