- Ebastine 1mg
Ebastel contains ebastine an anti histamine which acts by blocking histamine 1 receptors in the body
Ebastel is a second generation antihistamine having less sedating side effects – making it less drowsy – as compared to other anti histamine
Histamine 1(H1) is chemical signal released in the body as a response to allergic reaction brought about by allergens e.g. dust, pollen, some food type protein, some class of drugs. Some of the effects of H1 include; vasodilation which may lead to hypotension, bronchoconstriction which may lead to asthma and allergic inflammation.
Dosage:
Usual child dose is
6 years to 11 years : 5mls (5 mg) once per day
2 years to 5 years : 2.5mls (2.5 mg) once per day
Ebastel is not recommended for children under the age of 2 years
Caution:
- Don’t take Ebastel if you are pregnant or breast feeding
- Don’t take Ebastel tablet if allergic to it’s contents
- Avoid driving or operating machines for the period you’re taking this drug
