Esomeprazole reduces stomach acid production by inhibiting the proton pumps responsible for acid secretion. Itopride hydrochloride promotes gastrointestinal movement by increasing acetylcholine activity and blocking dopamine D2 receptors, helping the stomach empty more efficiently.
The combination may be prescribed for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, functional dyspepsia, bloating and post-meal fullness. Treatment should be guided by a qualified healthcare professional.
