Exforge HCT 10mg/160mg/12.5mg Tablets combine three antihypertensive medicines with complementary mechanisms of action. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps prevent blood vessel constriction, and hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that helps remove excess salt and water from the body.
It is not intended as initial therapy for hypertension.
Maintaining well-controlled blood pressure helps reduce the long-term risk of cardiovascular complications such as stroke, heart attack, heart failure, and kidney disease.
How to Take
- Take one tablet once daily exactly as prescribed.
- May be taken with or without food.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water.
- Take it at the same time each day to help maintain consistent blood pressure control.
Precautions
- Prescription-only medicine.
- Not intended for initiating hypertension treatment.
- Do not use during pregnancy.
- Inform your healthcare provider if you have kidney disease, liver disease, gout, diabetes, or electrolyte imbalance.
