Pylotrip is a combination treatment designed to eliminate H. pylori, a bacterium that can cause inflammation of the stomach lining and peptic ulcers. The kit combines an acid-suppressing medicine with two antibiotics to treat the infection and support ulcer healing.
Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production. Amoxicillin and clarithromycin are antibiotics that act against susceptible bacteria, including H. pylori. Using these medicines together improves the likelihood of eradicating the infection compared with acid suppression alone.
Successful treatment helps reduce the risk of ulcers returning when they are associated with H. pylori. The treatment duration and suitability depend on the prescription, previous antibiotic exposure and local antibiotic resistance patterns.
