Indications of letroz:
- Treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women
- Adjuvant therapy (after surgery) to reduce cancer recurrence
- Extended adjuvant treatment after completion of 5 years of tamoxifen therapy
- First-line treatment of advanced or metastatic breast cancer
- May be prescribed for other estrogen-related conditions as directed by a doctor
How to use letrozole:
- Oral use only
- Usual dose: 1 tablet (2.5mg) once daily, at the same time each day or as directed by a oncologist
- Can be taken with or without food
- Treatment duration is determined by the oncologist and may last for several years in adjuvant therapy
Safety Information:
- Not suitable for use in premenopausal women, pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Common side effects: hot flushes, fatigue, sweating, joint or muscle pain, headache, nausea
- May cause bone thinning (osteoporosis) – bone density monitoring may be recommended
- Rare but serious risks: blood clots, liver dysfunction, or severe allergic reactions
- Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking to avoid interactions
- Effective contraception should be used if there is a chance of pregnancy
